OBIGBO FOUNDATION NOW OBIGBO CENTER FOR LANGUAGE AND CULTURAL SURVIVAL

Obigbo Foundation a social cultural organization spearheaded by Nollywood film maker Chinyere Okparaji aka Chinny is now to be known as Obigbo Center for Language & Cultural Survival. Chinny says the name change was inevitable because the Obigbo project metamorphosed and evolved as the group carried out its projects. 'We realized that we couldn't just promote and preserve language and culture without protecting the  rights and privilegesof the indigenous people'
She said. Obigbo is geared towards promoting, preserving language and heritage and protecting indigenous rights through movies, stage, dance, music and all forms of media. Obigbo is set to embark on the use of new media for sensitization and campaigns. Chinny Okparaji is the Executive director of Obigbo.
She is determined to tell African indigenous African stories. She is currently working on a feature film set in an imaginary African Island. The
Island hosts several oil wells but the people are very poor.  They are torn in between clashes with the kwashiki herdsmen and the oil companies ravaging their waters and land.
